Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a day to reflect on the service, sacrifice and honor of the men and women who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. So while you enjoy the rest of your three day weekend with friends, family, BBQ and big department store sales, please take a moment to honor our fallen heroes lest we forget the true meaning of Memorial Day.

Over the years the meaning of Memorial Day has faded too much from the public consciousness. From a solemn day of mourning, remembrance, and honor to our departed loved ones, it has degenerated into a weekend of Bar B Q's, shopping bargains and beaches where only token nods toward our honored dead is given, if at all. Too many don't know what the day stands for.

Intel Unveils New Product Plans for High-Performance Computing

During the International Supercomputing Conference (ISC), Intel Corporation announced plans to deliver new products based on the Intel® Many Integrated Core (MIC) architecture that will create platforms running at trillions of calculations per second, while also retaining the benefits of standard Intel processors.

Targeting high-performance computing segments such as exploration, scientific research and financial or climate simulation, the first product, codenamed "Knights Corner," will be made on Intel's 22-nanometer manufacturing (nm) process – using transistor structures as small as 22 billionths of a meter – and will use Moore's Law to scale to more than 50 Intel processing cores on a single chip. While the vast majority of workloads will still run best on award-winning Intel® Xeon® processors, Intel® MIC architecture will help accelerate select highly parallel applications.

Treyarch Only Making Call of Duty Games

Treyarch has announced that they are a "100% Call of Duty studio" meaning that they will only make Call of Duty games from now on. Seems a bit risky, what happens when a new, more popular franchise comes out?

" We focused all of our efforts on creating the best Call of Duty game we possibly can and what that meant is not working on anything else. "
