Be Quiet! Pure Power L8 700W PSU

PC Perspective has the Be Quiet! Pure Power L8 700W power supply strapped to the test bench today. Here's a quote from the full review:

The Pure Power L8 700W PSU doesn’t incorporate the same sophisticated circuit topology of the Dark Power Pro 10 series, which results in lower efficiency (Bronze status instead of Platinum) but saves money. The Pure Power L8 uses a 120mm SilentWings fan instead of the 135mm high-tech version used in the Dark Power Pro 10, but it still runs extremely quiet at low to mid power levels. And while the Dark Power Pro comes with modular cables and a 5-year warranty the Pure Power L8 comes with fixed cables and a 3-year warranty.

Man Caught Intentionally Cheating YouTube...After 5 Months

Want to know what is really sad about this story? You know for a fact that, if you or I tried some crap like this, we'd end up busted in a day.

I cheated YouTube for 5 months and finally got caught. After more than five months, $500 spent, and more than half a million views, YouTube has finally deleted the video that I blatantly juiced with fake views all winter.

Thortech Thunderbolt 1200W Semi Modular PSU

Need a PSU? Head on over to eTeknix and check out their review of the Thortech Thunderbolt 1200W semi-modular power supply.

If we just sit back and consider this product's credentials then it actually has a lot going for it. Firstly, it provides a large amount of power (1200W) at a very high efficiency level (80 Plus Gold). Secondly, it does this in a relatively compact form factor for a PSU of its wattage, looking more like the size we'd expect to see a 650-850W PSU in. Thirdly it offers up a semi modular design and is reasonably attractive - especially if you like hints of yellow.

AMD Spent Up To $8M On Battlefield 4 Deal

According to anonymous sources, AMD spent $8 million on the Battlefield 4 deal. That seems like a pretty damn good deal...for one of the two involved. wink

Multiple sources have told us that AMD spent between $5 and $8 million to secure the Battlefield 4 deal. The part of the deal was to make Battlefield 4 as a part of AMD exclusive bundle, only available to select AMD partners, as well as to make sure that showcases of the game are done on AMD hardware.

Everything You Needed to Know About the Internet....In 1994

You guys hear about this "internet" thing people are talking about? No? Then this book should be helpful!

  • E-mail: "Never forget that electronic mail is like a postcard. Many people can read it easily without your ever knowing it. In other words, do not say anything in an e-mail message which you would not say in public."

  • Finding people to communicate with: " telephone a good friend who has electronic mail and exchange e-mail addresses with him or her."

  • "Surfing" the Internet: "Surfing the Internet is a lot like channel surfing on your cable television. You have no idea what is on or even what you want to watch."

Poll Of Almost 1,300 People Favors The PS4

Actually, if you want to get down to the nitty gritty, it was a poll of 1297 people that like to take polls. Normal people could give a crap because they own a PC. Everyone else will buy the successor to the console they own now or, if they are can, buy both.

Asked about their interest in dedicated game devices, 26 percent of 1,297 people surveyed online last week say they are likely to purchase the new PlayStation 4 when available, versus 15 percent opting for the Xbox One. The rift widens among those below the age of 40. Of that group of 408 people, 41 percent picked Sony's PS4 versus 27 percent for Microsoft's Xbox One, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted from Sept 23 to Sept 27.
