Uber CEO Wants Every Car To Be An Uber Car

Hah! I could just imagine the look on someone's face if I pulled up in my car to give them a ride.

Ford Is Launching An Adaptive Steering System

While technology like this is cool and all, why not just go old school and install a close ratio steering box? Less parts, cheaper and it would last longer.

Ford’s adaptive steering makes it easier for drivers to maneuver a vehicle at low speeds while making the vehicle more fun to drive and agile at high speeds. Adaptive steering changes the ratio between the driver’s actions at the steering wheel – the number of turns – and how much the front wheels turn. In vehicles without the technology, this is a fixed steering ratio. With adaptive steering, the ratio continually changes with vehicle speed, optimizing the steering response in all conditions.

Troubleshooting And Repairing Windows 10 Problems

I have a foolproof way of avoiding Windows 10 problems....I haven't installed it yet. I figure I'll let everyone else guinea pig it first and then jump in after the bugs are ironed out. cool

My impression, based on 25 years of Windows troubleshooting experience, is that this release of Windows is above average in terms of reliability. But it's far from perfect, and Microsoft still has work to do to fix bugs and resolve some pesky issues. That's typical for any version 1.0 release (just ask Mac users who struggled through the Yosemite upgrade a year ago and are dreading the release of El Capitan at the end of this month.)

Emergency-Number Hack Bypasses Android Lock Screen

You have to wonder how the hell this guy figured this out. Was he just bored one day and started messing around with his phone?

A vulnerability exists in Android 5.x <= 5.1.1 (before build LMY48M) that allows an attacker to crash the lockscreen and gain full access to a locked device, even if encryption is enabled on the device. By manipulating a sufficiently large string in the password field when the camera app is active an attacker is able to destabilize the lockscreen, causing it to crash to the home screen. At this point arbitrary applications can be run or adb developer access can be enabled to gain full access to the device and expose any data contained therein.
