The Apple iPad: It's Just Ahead of its Time?

Please tell me this lady did not just say the iPad is "ahead of its time." Hopefully that was meant as a joke / sarcasm, especially after she listed off all the things the iPad doesn’t do:

The iPad is hampered by a well-documented string of missing features: a camera, 16:9 support, Flash support (seriously?), multitasking, SD card slot, HDMI or high-res video output support, USB ports, GPS, and so on. Plus, it's exclusive to the AT&T; network (again: seriously? in this iteration, the pricing scheme is overly complex, and while I'm not sure it's genuinely overpriced, it's nevertheless expensive.

'Halo Killer’ Gets 23 to Life

The kid dubbed the "Halo killer" was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison for killing his mom and trying to make it look like his dad did it. Although the claims made by the defense attorney were laughable (at best), the comments made by the judge were actually kind of frightening.

"The playing of the video games and the reality of shooting somebody in his case was blinded; it was merged," defense attorney James Kersey reportedly argued. "He had no thoughts during this process. During this time, he was blinded that his parents might be dead; that they might never come back."

Anti-Piracy Scheme "A Scam & Legal Blackmail"

We need more politicians in the U.S. that think like this guy. I am all for holding people accountable for their actions but allowing the recording industry to side step the legal system and extort money from people is just ridiculous.

It will hardly surprise anyone when we allege that ACS:Law and fellow anti-piracy outfits are clearly abusing copyright for profit. However, it is good to see that our views are being supported by several Lords in the UK. In recent weeks the law firm sending out these mass copyright infringement notices has been discussed in the UK House of Lords.

70% of Employers Rejected Applicants Over Online Info

Just another reason to think twice before posting party pictures on your profile.

A full 70-percent of surveyed HR workers in the U.S. admitted to rejecting a job applicant because of his or her Internet behavior. Meanwhile, about 60-percent of surfers admit to being concerned that their online behavior may affect their professional or personal lives.
