IBM Teams Up With Twitter

IBM and Twitter are teaming up? This ought to be interesting. eek!

But their partnership, announced on Wednesday, makes a lot of sense. It is intended to give IBM’s data-analysis business, including its Watson artificial-intelligence technology, broad access to one of the world’s richest data sources — billions of people expressing their interests, wants and worries about every imaginable topic.

Google Must Pay Woman For Showing Her Cleavage in Street View

How DARE Google show a picture of a lady sitting on her porch, in plain view of the public, with her cleavage showing! I'm glad those misogynistic bastards had to pay up!

Google invaded the privacy of a Montreal woman by showing her sitting outside of her house with "part of her breast exposed," and must pay her compensation, a judge ruled this month. According to a 17-page decision, Maria Pia Grillo suffered shock and embarrassment when she looked up her house using Google Maps’ Street View feature in 2009 and discovered an image that shows her leaning forward and exposing cleavage.

Nation’s First "Craigslist Transaction Safe Zone" Created

You know, this is actually a pretty damn good idea when you think about it.

While the vast majority of purchases made via Craigslist go down without a problem, those don’t make the news; it’s the rare case of people getting scammed or attacked that earns the headlines. In an effort to reduce the chance of those sorts of incidents, one Pennsylvania community has created what it claims is the nation’s first Craigslist Transaction Safe Zone.

Corsair HX1000i Modular Power Supply

The Corsair HX1000i modular PSU is on the test bench at eTeknix this afternoon. For comparison purposes, you can see our evaluation here.

The Corsair HX1000i that we have with us here today is the second largest wattage of the new HXi series of power supplies. The HXi series builds on the RM series platform in many ways. Channel Well Technology are the OEM producer of both series platforms and the HX1000i is an enhanced version of the RM platform as it features better efficiency, more sophisticated ripple suppression capabilities and extra bells and whistles such as digital monitoring and controls of the rail mode and fan speed.

James Cameron Thinks VR Is A "Yawn"

I actually thought James Cameron, of all people, would be a fan of virtual reality.

"There seems to be a lot of excitement around something that, to me, is a yawn, frankly," he said "The question that always occurred to me is, when is it going to be mature, when is it going to be accepted by the public at large, when are people going to start authoring in VR and what will that be?" Cameron said.

TPB Co-Founder Found Guilty in Hacking Trial

It looks like Gottfrid Svartholm has been found guilty of hacking CSC, a company that works with the Danish government.

Dismissing the remote control defense, Judge Ulla Otken said the hacking of CSC had been both "systematic and comprehensive."

PS4 Firmware Update Hit With Widespread Bug

I honestly don't know why Sony isn't in the masonry business because no one makes bricks like they do. big grin

However, the update has been tainted by widespread reports that putting the system into standby mode (now dubbed "Rest Mode") prevents the console from reawakening. Both of the consoles in our office encountered the same issue. Bugs with YouTube functionality have also been reported.
