Ready Or Not, SP2 Is Coming:

For corporate customers who use automatic updates, SP2 is on the way come April 12th. Microsoft is letting customers know that it will start delivering Windows XP Service Pack 2 to all customers using automatic update, ready or not.

While recognizing the need for customers to test software, Microsoft has been urging businesses to move to SP2 for its enhanced security benefits, particularly for portable machines that frequently travel in and out of a corporate firewall.

Mac Pioneer Dies:

Jef Raskin, the legendary Mac pioneer and the 31st Apple employee, died Saturday of cancer.

Jef Raskin, the computer interface expert who launched the Macintosh project for Apple Computer, died Saturday at age 61. The author of "The Humane Interface: New Directions for Designing Interactive Systems," died of cancer at his Pacifica, Calif., home.
